THE OUTSIDE ACADEMY

-I'm talking even prior to the pandemic. My undergraduate education was unenthusiastic, to put it mildly. I quite literally played "eeny, meeny, miny, moe" and picked what I thought would be a good major for myself: advertising. I was very wrong. When I say I learned close to nothing, I mean it. Phew...where do I start? I've been working in education nearing twenty years, and to put it mildly--I've seen some things. Much of what I experienced was wonderful, but there were some major deficits in education, and I'm including public, charter, and private schools in this conversation. As a teacher, there was nothing more that I loved more than connecting with students and helping them succeed, but on the flip side, I also was forced to graduate students from high school
